schlinkdomaineviticole

In 2011 SCHLINK domaine viticole celebrated 100 years. in 1993  René Schlink took over the winery from Jean Schlink-Hoffeld. Since 2008 Jean-Marc Schlink the son of René works in the family field after his studies in Avize/Champagne and in Bad Kreuznach/Rhineland.

The estate covers 11 hectares which are planted mostly with noble wines on argilo-calcareous soils with a south-eastern exposure to ensure optimal maturation. The most known denominations are in Machtum: Ongkaf, Widdem, Hohfels and in Wormeldange: Köppchen, Elterberg, Heiligenhäuschen.

The wines of the domain stroke by aromatic richness and delicate structure, the result of rigorous selection of the grapes during harvest and of attentive care to the vineyard.  Numerous medals at international competitions confirm the high quality of the wines and crémants.

The “Arômes et Couleurs” selection marks out the best wines of each year. With other winegrowers the domain introduced the quality label “Charta of the independent winegrowers”. The result is the “Charta Riesling” and the “Charta Pinot Noir” , wines with an outstanding quality. The limitation of yields less than 60 hl/ha achieves healthy crops and the excellent phenolic maturation contributes to grow great wines.

The wine bar “Wäistuff Deisermill” with a splendid view over the meanders of the Moselle, is the ideal place to enjoy a good glass of wine or Crémant.  A plate of regional products (ham or cheese for example) completes the wine tasting. All the wines of the domain are available at this location.

The winery is a member of the Domaines Vinsmoselle cooperative that was founded in 1921 and is now the leading producer of wine and crémants in Luxembourg. The winegrowers’ cooperative has four sites along the Moselle. The winery in Wormeldange, in Art Deco style, is where the prestigious Poll-Fabaire brand of Luxembourg crémant is produced. The winery team will welcome you by the shores of the Moselle and take you on a tour on which you can learn to appreciate the wide range of different Luxembourg wines and crémants. In summer you can taste the different grape varieties that are used to make Moselle wines as you relax on the sunny terrace, surrounded by vineyards.

domainesvinsmosellecavesdewellenstein

Founded in 1930, the Caves de Wellenstein is now the largest site of the Domaines Vinsmoselle, which includes 240 wineries. It is the control center of the worldwide shipment of Vinsmoselle wines from the Grand Duchy. The pressing of the straw wine in the traditional old cellar is one of Wellenstein’s annual highlights. The wine tavern and banqueting hall are perfect places to celebrate this too.

Cellar tours can be reserved all year round, except during harvest time (approx. September). Duration: approx. 60 minutes.

domaineclosdesrochers

The vineyards, cultivated by the Clasen family since the 19th century, extend over an area of 18 hectares (44.5 acres).

Eager to preserve the unique character of Mosellan wines, the Domaine “Clos des Rochers” displays the human and technical means to meet its high standards. A quality vineyard, entirely replanted over the last 30 years, a winery endowed with the best technical equipment, and obviously, highly qualified people, are all essential elements which contribute to this aim. One of the first growers to favour low yields, selective harvesting and integrated farming (“culture raisonnée”), the Domaine “Clos des Rochers” cultivates more than 35 different plots of vineyards over a large range of terroirs between Grevenmacher and Wormeldange. The Domaine “Clos des Rochers” is known for its dry wines with their clean style. They are the undisputed partners of fine cuisine and are endowed with a great ageing potential. Produced according to strict rules, the Cremants “Clos des Rochers” reveal the expertise of the Domaine and the admirable inclination of Luxembourg wines to be enhanced by bubbles!

You can find Domaine Clos des Rochers wines in the wine library and for tasting at the Bernard-Massard cellars in Grevenmacher.
